Interns!

  • Hey, I'm Sarah, the new summer intern at Today's 106.5! I'm a Journalism student at The University of Utah and I'll graduate next spring. I love photojournalism and writing, so you should check out my new intern blog. I'll be blogging about my internship experience and photographing events for Today's 106.5.

Shazam! Michelle here, I am one of the many new and improved interns for today's 106.5.  I'm studying Mass Communication and I am interested in popular media forms, including radio. It's my last semester at the University of Utah and this internship will be a fantastic use of my time. I love writing and I started a blog. If you want to learn more about me, you can check it out here.

Hi it's Makara and Rudy we are the new and improved interns for today's 106.5 We are pumped up to start rampaging this site and show everyone what Westminster Griffins can do! This is our last semester as Griffins and it's time to put our marketing skills to use.

Hey it's Robyn and Katrina! We are the Summer 2009 Interns doing promotional events for Today's 106.5! We are both marketing majors at Westminster College! Robyn just graduated and Katrina will be graduating next May!
What We Do:
  • Activities include: working with radio station morning show personalities, including Fisher and Peggy, Bob Lonsberry, and others as well as companies the radio stations have teamed-up with for an event.

Besides doing fun promotions, we actually do some office work! This includes doing a market analysis of all the radio stations in the Salt Lake Valley. We compare the promotions they have going on each week throughout the term of our internship.

In addition to the market analysis, we also do proposals for future promotions. These proposals let our partners know what the radio station wants to do for events and if the idea is feasible. We also do recaps on events that have already been done to let sponsors know how the event went.

Interns also get to throw around ideas for future events and promotions.

We also interact with listeners and contest winners.

Vaughn
  • Hi I’m Vaughn the new intern here at the station.  I’m a political science major at UVU and am just looking for some good work experience before I graduate.  I’ll be here through December at every event so if you see a really skinny but stunningly handsome blonde guy then come say hi!

What I do

  • Everyday we are doing something different from fixing event tents to filming people for movie reviews.  There is always something new that needs to be done, but it’s always something important and useful.  As an intern I get to meet and work with many different people in the building and not just in the promotions department.  I’d highly recommend this experience anyone who wants to get the most out of an internship.
